Again, A Time Machine — Part three
Timeline Date (Date published / Date of event):
14 June 2011 - 5 July 2011

For Again, A Time Machine at The Showroom, words and archives are discharged into the present, with the start of The Artist Talks a year long project by Sarah Pierce, and a monthly series of talks and events.

Sarah Pierce’s work considers the archive as historical material and collective input, a source of potential slippage and dissent – evidence of how we speak of the political in art. For Again, A Time Machine she will develop a body of work drawn from audio recordings of talks and events programmed throughout the exhibition, culminating in a solo show in April 2012. For the first event a series of proposals in the form of archival fragments, form the basis for improvised dialogue on the archive.

The second event, presents three practices that forge the absurd and future-orientated with the collective and distributive. In a night of ritual, images and choreography, the distribution of printed matter as a form of gangster economics encounters the circulation of not-human mass propaganda and the exploration of new uses for past futures.
