Shup by Jordan Baseman (1998)

SHUP IS A speculative screenplay that depicts a true story that took place on Saturday March 13, 1976 in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. It is an investigation into the cruelties and powerlessness of youth; a study of mutual oppression. The story is recounted by Jordan Baseman, an American artist now resident in London, who grew up in America and would have turned sixteen in 1976. Witty and cruel in turns, Shup alludes to the visual and represents a remarkable achievement from an artist who usually deals in the currency of objects, of visual manifestations and juxtapositions. Shup has been designed by Rob Hadrill and typeset by Jess Ahmon at Book Works. It is printed offset in an edition of 1,000 copies.

It has 48 pages and a bright yellow sulphur-yellow cover with a blind embossed title, 225 x 151mm.

ISBN 1 870699 35 1.
