The Palaver by Gad Hollander and Andrew Bick (1998)

The Palaver, a combination of the creative talents of Gad Hollander, a writer and film-maker and artist Andrew Bick, functions as a story board for an imaginary movie. The images, black and white photographs sourced in various European locations, have an elusive but familiar quality. Super-imposed over each image is a series of line drawings in blue marker pen, that operate as a form of 'punctuation' which in turn accentuate potential meanings in the images. The Palaver is published as part of the Format series, designed by John & Orna designs, printed offset in an edition of 1,000 copies. The Palaver has been supported by a generous grant from The Elephant Trust.

It has 60 pages, with 48 original texts and images - duotone with additional blue drawings, and glossy brilliant-green soft covers.
