The book takes the reader on a remarkable journey. In response to Sigmund Freud's astonishing personal collection of art and antiquities, his library, consulting room (including the famous couch), at his last home, in London. The book presents a series of archaeological collection boxes, and through turning the pages the reader embarks on a personal journey to disclose the secrets of each box.

The book was originally created in response to After the Freud Museum an installation commissioned by Book Works. This installation has been developed and is currently on show at Tate Modern, 25 Sumner Street, London SE1.

Originally published in hardback in 1995, this soft back version 2000 is printed offset in an edition of 1,000 copies, illustrated throughout in black and white.
