| Feature Film by Douglas Gordon takes Alfred Hitchcock's classic Vertigo as a starting point and focuses on Bernard Hermann's momentous film score. Gordon has created a new film featuring James Conlan (chef d'orchestre of the Paris Opera), in which the music is played out through his dramatic head and hand gestures. The book is published as a parallel work with reproductions of movie stills from Feature Film and Vertigo, along with a CD that contains a complete recording of Hermann's score. Raymond Bellour and Royal S Brown have written critical texts on Gordon's work and the original music of Bernard Herrmann. Feature Film was launched in conjunction with Douglas Gordon's new work Feature Film, commissioned by Artangel. It is printed full colour offset in an edition of 2,500, with 128 pages, soft back cover with die-cut ISBN 1 870699 23 8, price £24.95.
